Worth the money. I had not known that such things existed. Comes with two AAA batteries. I had to really study the directions and practice a bunch of times before I got the hang of it. Well made , good design, much smaller than I expected which is a good thing. You need to keep it where you can get to it within seconds if you really want to get the benefit.

I’ve used this a few times over the summer, and for the most part, it works well. In most cases it stops the itch completely. In other cases it reduces the itch to the point that it’s no longer annoying or distracting.
The head heats up and you’ll briefly feel a moderately sharp pain like you’re getting burned, but only for a moment. For almost all adults and teens, this won’t be an issue. Younger kids, people sensitive to sensory stimulation or those sensitive to pain may not like it for this reason.
It does work, though, and it’s not a gimmick.

It helps significantly if you use it pretty much immediately when you’re bit. If not, then it becomes a very temporary relief. Still glad I got it, but just need to be vigilant so I can catch bites in time so it provides enough relief.

Stopped working after three years of mostly summertime use but could be worse. We just bought another one because the price point is reasonable. As sometime else mentioned, leaving it powered on will drain the battery even when not in use so be sure to turn it off each time. Definitely works to significantly relieve itching from mosquito bites (including older bites) so we will always keep this thing around. Would not recommend using on children as it does get very hot and uncomfortable but for us the temporary discomfort is 100% worth the relief from itching. We always do the double click which is the longest heat exposure time. It will NOT actually burn your skin, even though it can feel like it is.

Fairly high effectivity, one less star due to how small the heat applicator is, can sometimes lead to surrounding bite areas still feeling itchy.
Seems to be somewhat of a random draw of when it will actually successfully stop itching and lessen physical swelling. I would say somewhere around 65-70% success rate. Hurts moreso in less fatty parts of the body, but in general always hurts. The science behind it is sound. Concentrated/controlled heat does neutralize histamine in the mosquito saliva to help reduce itching and swelling. But seems to be variable from person to person in terms of how your body reacts. To be honest, the “old-wives” method is probably as effective… soaked wash rag in water, microwave to boiling temp, let cool for a short couple minutes, apply to skin and compress hard for a short time, steam and heat will open the pores, help eliminate itching and reduce swelling.
WARNING: you need to have a pretty good pain thresh hold for this device. It is no joke the amount of heat this device emits in the short seconds per usage. It will not technically burn your skin and cause actual damage unless you have more sensitive skin. But it does indeed emit extreme heat. I would NOT suggest for children.

It does work to quell the itching instantly. I went camping and was covered in bites so I would use this as soon as I noticed a new one or whenever it started to itch badly, about 2-3 times per day for about 5 days. I always used anti-itch cream after to delay the itch coming back as long as possible.
It’s only temporary relief, it lasts a few hours. Also, it left scars on my bites. Still 6 weeks later I can see all of them, they sort of look like faint bruises (see photo). I have a very fair complexion so that may be a factor. But honestly I’d use this again every time.

Smaller than an average tv remote. Batteries were included in the package. Feels like ‘pins and needles’ when activated and touching the skin. Will update after using on the mosquito bite…

listen… mosquitoes think i’m the main course at their all-you-can-eat buffet, and i was getting desperate. sprays, creams, witch hazel, the classic “scratch til it bleeds” method, nothing really gave relief. enter this little gadget. it basically looks like a tiny taser for bug bites (safe taser, don’t panic). you press the heated ceramic plate against your bite, it gives off this quick zap of heat, and boom, itch calms down almost instantly.
functionality is stupid simple. literally one button, two heat levels. i didn’t even look at the directions and still figured it out in two seconds. strength-wise, it actually feels powerful for such a small device. the heat penetrates enough to make a difference without feeling like you’re branding yourself. speed is where it shines: within about a minute the itch is either completely gone or way less annoying. effectiveness is shockingly high. it doesn’t just mask the itch, it actually breaks down the proteins in the bug saliva so the bite stays calmer instead of flaring right back up.
the relief is real. i’ve used it on everything from mosquito bites to no-see-ums to a random spider bite and it handled them all. way more effective than slathering myself in sticky creams that stain clothes. battery life? chef’s kiss. i’ve been using it for weeks and haven’t had to recharge once. size is compact enough to toss in a purse, pocket, or camping bag, and it feels sturdy, like it could survive being dropped a few times. safety-wise, yeah it gets hot, but not sear your flesh hot. totally manageable.
value for money depends on how much bugs bully you. if you’re like me (prime rib in mosquito world), this thing pays for itself in one summer. if bugs leave you alone, maybe not worth it. but for me, it’s the difference between suffering in silence or actually enjoying being outside without clawing my skin off. absolute game changer.

This little device actually surprised me with how well it works! I get eaten alive by mosquitoes, and this helps reduce the itching and swelling fast. It heats up quickly and gives noticeable relief within minutes, which has definitely helped me sleep better without constantly scratching.
That said, it does get pretty hot — not enough to burn, but it can sting a little if held too long. The strength of the heat seems just right once you get used to it. It’s small, easy to use, and worth the money for anyone who reacts badly to bites. Definitely a solid buy for summer or travel.

My grandsons team mate got a bad mosquito bite and I used this in his leg and it seemed to calm the bite down. Glad I had it on hand. Bugs seem to really like me so, I will definitely use it too when needed. Lately, I have been spraying myself with “bug away” spray so that seems to help. Quick Shipping too.
